Types of Lanyard Rope Materials, Worth Knowing!

Lanyard rope as we know that its function is indeed to hang identification or id cards. In the past, maybe only a few companies used IDs for their employees, but now almost all companies and even SMEs also use this ID for their staff. Then not only that, even in some activities, the committees also used ID cards.

But if we talk about id cards, then we can’t get rid of the lanyard strap. Some time ago we discussed what a lanyard is and its uses. Well this time we will discuss about the various kinds of materials that can be used and made as the rope.

Curious? Let’s see the presentation below!

Here it is, the type of material for making lanyards!

Has the company you worked for procured this work attribute? So if you haven’t already, you can order it from us here! But before that, it would be even better if you first find out the rope material global asia printings and its characteristics to make the lanyard.

Here are some types of id card straps that are distinguished based on the material they are made of.

There are 5 (five) types of materials to make lanyards and each material is chosen with consideration of durability and also how good the material is to be used as design printing media.

  • Polyester Tissue

The first type is the most familiar material and is in great demand by consumers. The design of the rope made of polyester tissue is very attractive and rich in color. That’s why this material is very favored.

The characteristics of this material is a very flat and smooth or glossy surface. If you look closely, the surface looks solid with tight fiber bonds. From the smooth surface that the rope is called polyester tissue. It’s just like the smoothness of a tissue. So, with a smooth surface and dense fibers, this is why this material is able to provide the most beautiful full color prints through the digital printing method.

However, the use of tissue material has its drawbacks, namely in terms of relatively more expensive prices than others. In addition, the color also fades faster.

  • Nylon Polyester

For this material in terms of texture has a slightly rough surface. In addition, the bonds between the fibers are very visible. Due to its non-smooth surface characteristics, lanyards with this material are more commonly processed using the screen printing method and do not produce full color.

The advantage of this nylon material lies in its strength to withstand loads. So you don’t have to be afraid of the rope breaking easily even if it gets stuck and even heavy objects.

  • Polyester Cover

Actually this polyester sheath has the same constituent fibers as nylon polyester. But the form is different. If the nylon material is flat, then the polyester sheath has a slightly expanded shape and has more volume.

Because of its texture, lanyards for this material can only be printed using the screen printing technique. In addition, the strength of the material is quite good. It’s just that the surface is prone to tearing so the fibers are easily pulled out and torn.

  • Polyester Doff

Even though it is known as a polyester material, it is clear that this one rope is very different from the type of rope above. The difference is due to the material in the mixture of materials it has. where this type of lanyard is not added with filament, so the appearance it has will look more matte.

  • Reflective Rope

This type of lanyard is one of the most special. This is due to the reflective display that is able to reflect light, you know. The reflection comes from the reflective thread on the inside, that’s why this rope is also often called a scotchlite rope which results in a very shiny finish.

So, those are the types of materials commonly used to make ID card straps. Now you know and understand the types and characteristics so you can consider in determining what kind of lanyard you need and in accordance with the company’s image.
